HELP SUPPORT LINCOLN PARK

PLAY IS A GOOD THING!

Lincoln Park is at the top of the beautiful Paint River Walkway along the banks of the Paint River immediately to the East of the M-69 bridge. The 3.07 acres of Lincoln Park were purchased by the City of Crystal Falls in 1925 from the Alex and Mary Dalpra family. The City has maintained the park since that time and currently the only playground equipment is a swing set. The Lincoln Park Playground Committee is attempting to raise funds to purchase additional playground equipment for the children to enjoy.

When the former V.J. Day Committee disbanded in 2005 and their savings account was distributed among various charity organizations, the sum of $1000 was given to the City to be used toward the purchase of playground equipment for Lincoln Park. In addition, a float trailer was also given to the City, which the City later sold on bids, adding to the Lincoln Park Playground funds. The funds were invested in a Certificate of Deposit in hopes that additional monies could be allocated in the future to purchase some playground equipment. Those funds have grown to a meager $1,500.00 today. Playground equipment is very expensive. The Lincoln Park Playground Committee is attempting to add to those funds as the City is struggling with various other projects and cannot afford to buy the playground equipment.  Check out this example of how you can help

Perhaps you would like to help the committee with the fund raising activities. If so, call Dorothea at the City Hall – 875-3212 ext 102.

CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE PLAYGROUND FUND ARE APPRECIATED AND CAN BE MADE AT THE CITY CLERK’S OFFICE AT THE CITY HALL!
