A special meeting of the Council for the City of Crystal Falls was held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall on Monday, April 2, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. Central Time. Present: Mayor Cram, Councilors Hendrickson, and Lind. Absent: Councilors Nylund and Benda Also present were City Attorney, City Manager and City Clerk. The purpose of this special meeting was to open, review, and act on bids received for the "red pine logs" which were cut down at the city owned cemetery. Mayor Cram opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. Three bids were received for the red pine logs. Mayor Cram opened them, announcing each as he did: Matt Stachowicz - $177.77 John Bruce - $300.00 John Aho - $510.00 Councilor Lind, supported by Councilor Hendrickson, moved to accept the highest bid of $510.00 from John Aho for the red pine logs which were cut by the City work crews at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Motion carried. Manager Nordeman suggested to Mr. Aho, who was present at the meeting, that removal of the logs should be done as early in the morning as possible when the ground is frozen to avoid damage to the cemetery roadways. Mr. Aho agreed. There being no further business on the agenda for this special meeting, meeting adjourned at 10:10 a.m.
