A special meeting of the Council for the City of Crystal Falls was held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 5:00 p. m. Central Time.

Present: Mayor Sabo, Councilors Hendrickson, Thrasher, Benda and Koszyk.

Absent: None

Also present were City Manager Nordeman, City Clerk Olson, City Attorney Lawrence, and several members of the community.

The purpose of this special meeting was to make an appointment to fill a vacancy on the Board of Review.

Mayor Sabo called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

Mayor Sabo invited the current Board of Review members, Don Boulanger and Jerry Hegstrom, to comment regarding the pending appointment. Both declined the invitation.

Mayor Sabo called for a roll call election for the Board of Review appointment. He noted that each Councilor should voice their preference for the position from the slate of candidates. The candidates were: Kristine Coopman, Ken Whippler, Walter Hagglund, and William Leonoff.

The roll call vote:

Councilor Koszyk: Ken Whippler

Councilor Benda: Kristine Coopman

Councilor Thrasher: Ken Whippler

Councilor Hendrickson: Ken Whippler

Mayor Sabo: Kristine Coopman

Mayor Sabo asked Clerk Olson to read the results of the vote. Clerk Olson reported two (2) votes for Kristine Coopman and three (3) votes for Ken Whippler.

Mayor Sabo announced the appointee to the Board of Review to be Ken Whippler by a majority vote.

There being no other items on the agenda, the meeting was adjourned at 5:03 p.m.
