A special meeting of the Council for the City of Crystal Falls was held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 5:00 pm Central Time.

Present: Mayor Hendrickson, Councilors Heikkinen, Valesano, Smokevitch, and Bicigo.

Absent: None

Also present were City Manager Nordeman, City Attorney Lawrence, City Clerk/Treasurer Olson, Chief Electrician David Graff, and Attorney Ron Basso.

The purpose of this special meeting was to discuss and consider a Planning Commission appointment and Labor Negotiations Strategy (IBEW).

Mayor Hendrickson led all in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Hendrickson seconded by Councilor Smokevitch moved to appoint Scott Thrasher to the remainder of a term on the Planning Commission (said term will expire April 30, 2008).

Motion carried.

Councilor Heikkinen seconded by Mayor Hendrickson moved to meet in closed session pursuant to the Open Meetings Act, P.A. 1976, No. 267, Section 15.278 (c), to conduct a discussion regarding strategy for negotiations with the IBEW for the electric department employees.

Ayes: Mayor Hendrickson, Councilors Heikkinen, Smokevitch, Valesano, and Bicigo. Nays: None

Motion carried.

Meeting reconvened at 6:37 p.m.

Councilor Heikkinen seconded by Mayor Hendrickson moved to adjourn this special meeting of the City Council.

Motion carried.
