A special meeting of the Council for the City of Crystal Falls was held in the Council Chambers at the City Hall on Monday, September 29, 2008 at 6:00 pm Central Time.

Present: Mayor Hendrickson, Councilors Heikkinen, Smokevitch, and Bicigo.

Absent: None

Also present were: City Manager Nordeman, City Attorney Lawrence, City Clerk/Treasurer Olson.

Visitors in attendance were: David Graff, Attorney Robert Rosemurgy, Tom Stachowicz, Larry Bicigo, and Mary Lahna.

The purpose of this special meeting was to discuss the following:

Conduct discussion regarding IBEW contract negotiations.

Mayor Hendrickson led the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Hendrickson seconded by Councilor Heikkinen moved to retain Attorney Robert Rosemurgy (at the rate of $195.00/hour plus expenses) to assist the City Council in matters regarding the IBEW contract negotiations.

Motion carried.

Mayor Hendrickson seconded by Councilor Heikkinen moved to meet in closed session pursuant to P.A. 1976, No. 267, 15.268, Section 8 (c), for a strategy session regarding the negotiations of the union contract with the electric dept employees.

Motion carried.
