CLICK ON THE BUTTON ABOVE FOR THE CURRENT CONTEMPORARY CENTER SCHEDULE The Contemporary Center is a vital component of downtown Crystal Falls. Our community arts center provides a diverse array of programs to entertain the interests of people living and visiting our area. A sampling of classes offered include: student and adult pottery, one-stroke painting, stain glass, photography, ladies fitness and pen and ink. Recent workshops included: evergreen wreath creations, glass block luminaries and the garden party summer series to name a few. The Contemporary Center collaborates with other Crystal Falls organizations. Forest Park S.A.D.D. co-sponsors teen dances, a Halloween event and the All Kids Fishing Derby. As part of the Crystal Falls Business Association's Hometown Christmas the Center is the site of a Christmas Bazaar and Santa's Workshop where children made Christmas ornaments for giving. The Center will again sponsor open game nights for middle school and high school students. This program runs mid January through mid March. The Center's fund raising events usually draw big crowds. Last year's Annual Student Talent show highlighted the talent of 80 students before a full house at the historic Crystal Theatre. We will be hosting another "Souper Bowl Luncheon" where you can have your lunch served in a hand thrown bowl to keep. Our biggest event has been the Mystery Dinner Theater. Solve the who-done-it mystery while enjoying a fabulous dinner.
New to the Center is the Iron Tree Gallery. With fresh paint and new
carpeting the gallery is dressed and ready to showcase works of art. The
Director will be working with artists in setting up displays this winter. The
art retail gallery should be ready to accommodate visitors by April 2007. The facility is located at 200 Superior Ave. in downtown Crystal Falls. The schedule of events and classes can be found in the Iron County Reporter and Shoppers' Guide. The schedule is also posted in the front windows at the Center. If you have any questions please call the Center at (906) 875-4595. Board of Directors: Vinnie Liscomb, Beverly Camp, Ann Marie Meldrum, Cindy Oboczky, Tanya Stebbins. Maureen Elson, director.
