ORDINANCE NO. 1.02

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A PLANNING COMMISSION:

THE CITY OF CRYSTAL FALLS ORDAINS:

SECTION 1 – Pursuant to the provisions of Act #285 of the Public Acts of 1931 as amended there is hereby created a Planning Commission hereby designated as the Crystal Falls Planning Commission.

SECTION 2 – The Commission shall consist of the Mayor, the City Manager, one member of the Council to be selected by it, as ex officio members and whose terms shall run concurrently with their respective official tenures, and six members to be appointed by the Mayor with the approval by a majority vote of the members elect of the Council.

The terms of each appointed member shall be three (3) years or until his successor takes office except that the respective terms of two of the members first appointed shall be for one (1) year and two for two (2) years.

SECTION 3 – The Commission shall make and adopt a master plan for the physical development of the City of Crystal Falls and its environs pursuant to the provisions of Act 285 of the Public Acts of the State of Michigan and its amendments thereto.

The powers and duties of the said Commission shall be governed by the provisions of said Act.

SECTION 4 – This Ordinance shall take immediate effect to provide for the usual daily operation of the City as outlined in Sec. 8.3b of the City Charter; further, this is merely a renumbering of an ordinance previously adopted.
