ORDINANCE NO. 2.01

AN ORDINANCE RELATIVE TO CHILDREN GOING ABROAD ON THE STREETS, ALLEYS AND PUBLIC GROUNDS OF THE CITY OF CRYSTAL FALLS

THE CITY OF CRYSTAL FALLS ORDAINS:

Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any child, boy, or girl, under the age of seventeen (17) years, to loiter, idle, play or go abroad on any of the streets, alleys or public places within the City of Crystal Falls between the hours of 10:00 in the evening and 5:00 in the morning, beginning at 10:00 on Sunday evening through 5:00 Friday morning, and between the hours of 12 Midnight on Friday through 5:00 Sunday morning, unless accompanied by a parent, guardian or some other person of lawful age having lawful charge of such child, boy or girl, with the consent of the parent or guardian of such child, boy or girl. Any person under the age of seventeen (17) years who shall be found playing, loitering or going abroad upon any of the streets, alleys or other public places, except if accompanied as hereinbefore provided, shall be deemed to be a disorderly person; provided, however, that this ordinance shall not apply to any child, boy or girl, under the age of seventeen (17) years who is returning from regular or legitimate school or church functions or from the place of their employment for which they have received a duly authorized work permit issued by the Superintendent of the school of his or of her attendance.

Section 2. It shall hereafter be the duty of the night fireman to blow the fire whistle for one minute at 10:00 in the evening of each and every day for the purpose of warning all persons under the age of seventeen (17) years to go to their respective homes.

Section 3. Any person or persons violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be complained against and punished under the provisions of Act No. 288 of Probate Code of 1939.

Section 4. This ordinance shall take immediate effect to provide for the usual daily operation of the City as outlined in Sec. 8.3b of the City Charter; further, this is only an edited and renumbered version of an ordinance previously adopted.
