ORDINANCE NO. 2.08 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING SOLICITATION OF BUSINESS ON PRIVATE PROPERTY THE CITY OF CRYSTAL FALLS ORDAINS: Section 1. The practice of going in and upon private residences in the City of Crystal Falls by solicitors, peddlers, hawkers, itinerant merchants or transient peddlers of merchandise or services, not having been requested or invited so to do by the owner or owners, occupant or occupants of said private residences, for the purpose of soliciting orders for, or the sale of, goods, wares, merchandise or services, or a combination of goods, wares, merchandise and services, or disposing of, peddling or hawking the same, is hereby declared to be unlawful and a nuisance and is hereby prohibited. Section 2. A. Any person violating this ordinance shall be deemed to have committed a civil infraction, subject to the payment of civil fines of $50.00 plus costs, for the first violation. B. Any repeat offense shall be subject to increased fines as follows: Section 3. This ordinance shall take immediate effect to provide for the usual daily operation of the City as outlined in Sec. 8.3b of the City Charter; further, this is merely a renumbering of an ordinance previously adopted.
